Celebrating 10 Years of Matt Ivory
Jul 04, 2026
The fourth of July is a special day for us at Mucky Nutz. And no, we’re not talking about independence for our cousins across the pond. This one’s much closer to home.
We’re celebrating our very own Matt Ivory: ten years of graft, loyalty, laughs, product know-how, and the occasional pisstake of the boss’s Northern accent.
Matt first arrived at Mucky Nutz HQ for his interview on 4th July 2016, which also happens to be his birthday. Back then, Mucky Nutz was still very much Shane at the helm, wearing all the hats and doing whatever was needed doing to keep the business rolling. But he knew he needed another pair of hands. Shane and Matt hit it off straight away, and it quickly became clear he’d found the right person.

Ten years on, Matt has become someone we simply couldn’t do without.
He’s one of those people who adapts, learns, steps in where needed, and quietly gets things done. From helping customers and managing trade accounts to supplier orders, and daily operations, Matt plays a big part in keeping Mucky Nutz moving.
He knows our products inside out because he’s not just selling them. He’s using them. He’s tested kit on his own bike, captured drone shots, creating fitting guides, and made sure customers can see exactly how our products work before they buy.
If you asked us to describe Matt in two words, they’d be: Mr Reliable.
He’s calm, practical, capable, and never one to chase the limelight. He just gets on with the job, which is exactly why he’s become such an important part of Mucky Nutz.
Of course, being part of Mucky Nutz also means putting up with plenty of team banter, questionable jokes, and the occasional bit of workplace chaos. Matt takes it all in his stride, usually with a dry comment, a knowing look, or by quietly getting his own back when the moment’s right.
That hands-on approach doesn’t stop at work, either. Outside of Mucky Nutz, Matt runs Haycroft Pond Yachts, where he handmakes beautiful pond yachts and ships them around the world. No pun intended. A proper craftsman.
He’s also been known to help out on the farm, spending summer evenings driving tractors, playing with big toys, ploughing fields and muck spreading, while listening to Foo Fighters. Every boy’s dream.
A lot has changed for Matt outside of work over the last decade too. He married his wonderful wife, Gemma, and they now have two lovely boys, Charlie and Harry.

This milestone has landed at a time when he’s been forced to do something very unlike him, however: stop. After recently suffering a ruptured appendix, he had emergency surgery and is now recovering at home. We’d much rather be raising a glass with him at full strength, but for now we’re just glad he’s okay and taking some well-earned time to recover.
And how will we be marking this momentous milestone? With the least amount of fuss possible, in true laid-back Mr Ivory style: a beer and a burger overlooking the beach once he’s fighting fit again.
Sounds pretty perfect to us.
Happy birthday, congratulations on ten years, and thanks for being you, Matt.
Here’s to ten brilliant years, and hopefully many more to come.
